9 weeks
Noah is now 9 weeks old.
At the last doctor’s visit, on October 5th, he weighed in at 10 pounds and 12 ounces with a length of 22 inches. My little man is getting bigger! He gained roughly 4 pounds since his August 25th visit where he only weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces.
I thought he wasn’t gaining any weight at all since it seems like he wasn’t eating well because he was just constantly hungry all the time so I figured that my breastmilk wasn’t good enough or wasn’t enough for his appetite. Now, though, I am wondering if the 2 bottles of formula we give him ontop of the breastmilk is the reason behind his weight gain. hmmm…
I’m too hard on myself.
Yesterday was a rough day for us both. In the afternoon Noah was fine, sleeping for an hour or so throughout the day but after 5 he became fussy. Nothing would appease my sweet little baby. After burping he still was fussing. I let him latch on again and still he fusses.
By the time daddy and Uwo came home I was so exhausted and felt relief when his auntie took him and carried him off. Is it wrong of me to feel this way?
Yesterday too was when Noah and I had our first gab session. We ‘talked’ for about 10 minutes. I mostly did the talking while he just stared at me and coo’ed. His big brown eyes following my every movement and whenever my finger touched his cheeks or mouth he gave me a big, toothless smile and silent chuckle afterwards. Moments like that are priceless and make every struggle all worth it.
He also likes to be held upright with his face squished against our shoulders like this:
or this:
We try to prop him up well but he always slinks down and squishes his face in like that.
Now when we carry him upright he tries to push against his legs like he wants to stand up. Don’t have a picture of that yet but I’ll catch that moment soon enough since he’s doing it more often.
First blog
I have been searching all over the net for a place where I can document Noah’s daily activities and growth without having to purchase anything or have it be all complicated. I’ve tried several “baby sites” but you had to purchase their package to fully get the site going so yah that was a bust.
Guess blogging is the way to go. It’s free, convenient, and anyone can access it. Perfect for Noah and his momsie to use.
